Kata Beach Guide

Kata Beach attracts a similar laid back crowd as Karon Beach, and is lined with a grassy picnic area and shady Casaurina trees. The beautiful bay has plenty of sun loungers and activities but is not as crowded as Patong. Banana boats, parasailing, jet skis are all on offer as well as kayaks, which can be used to visit the tiny Crab Island about 400 metres off shore.

The gentle sloping sands of Kata Beach make it an ideal location for children to play, adults can also have fun with the volleyball nets set up along the beach, or simply relax with a Thai massage.

Kata Restaurants

Eating out in Kata is very convenient with so many restaurants to choose from serving local and international dishes. Along the main Kata Road, that runs behind the large Club Med Resort, is where most of the hotels and restaurants are located.

Kata Activities

Kata is one of the best locations on the island if you are looking for a wide choice of things to do. The beach is a hive of activity during the day with fun to be had in the water with kayaks, snorkelling and parasailing and on the sand with volleyball and massage.

Kata Attractions

Travelling on the Kata Saiyuan Road, the coast road to Nai Harn, there are some wonderful view points well worth a visit to take some memorable photographs. Known simply as Kata View Point, the short roadside stop off with a purpose built pavilion

Kata Nightlife

As Kata is a family location the nightlife is fairly low key with a small choice of bars, but without any late night discotheques. Hotel bars are convenient and often provide entertainment making for a pleasant evening out
